Hotels
Hotels near the airport are sometimes less expensive than hotels in the city of Venice. If you will not be staying to see Venice and will go directly to the ship in the morning you may want to consider hotels near the airport.
This link to the Orbitz site shows a comparison of hotels. Just type in Venice and your check-in and check-out dates. Notice to the right of the “city” box you can click on airport to compare only the hotels near the aiport.
A few suggestions for smaller hotels in Venice
A few I have personally visited, many I have not. All are recommended by renound travel guide, Rick Steves. Buy his book, “Rick Steve’s Venice 2008.” It is clear, concise and somehow still tells you everything you need to know to get around Venice. Many more choices and more details in Steves’ book.
Prices may change so verify them with the hotel. Ask if they will give cash discount.
